Professional stunt artist Carolyn Dean from Yorkshire was a guest at the recent world premiere of the movie The Hunters Club at the Gold Coast International Film Festival in Australia.  A thrilling action film about a world of assassins, The Hunters Club featured stunts she choreographed and performed.

Carolyn, who bases herself in the Dales village of Grassington, worked on the action movie as a stunt woman performing fight sequences as well as acting in a number of scenes. She was also the film’s Stunt Safety Advisor alongside renowned Australian stunt man Don Vaughn, who has worked on a range of big screen blockbusters including Mission: Impossible II and Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome.

As safety advisor, Carolyn worked with the artists on set, including the film’s leading man – actor and writer Ty Hungerford, who starred in Absolute Deception alongside Cuba Gooding Jr.  In addition to her involvement in the many fight scenes involving fists, falls and guns, Carolyn also worked on car chase scenes with BMWs and fast-paced skateboarding through the busy streets of Brisbane.

Carolyn spent several weeks filming on location up and down Australia’s beautiful Gold Coast for The Hunters Club, so with the film edited and ready for its premier on the big screen at the International Film Festival, she was thrilled to make the trip to re-join the cast and crew on the red carpet at its glittering release.

The petite 40 year old, who originally trained to be a professional stunt woman in Australia over a decade ago said, “It was a great experience to return to work down under where I first learnt to coordinate and perform stunts. Filming on this action movie was a great opportunity to showcase my specialist stunts and learn new skills from Don Vaughn, who is highly respected in the stunt industry.”

Next up, Carolyn will be auditioning for a Universal Studios show based in Singapore.  While away from the cameras, she uses her expertise to deliver training in aspects of health and safety to businesses of all size and sector in the Yorkshire region.
