BENTHAM held its first ever vintage themed festival this month – VINT FEST celebrating fabulous fashion, food and fun from the 1920’s through to the 50’s with vintage clothes, food, cars and entertainment.
Fans of all things vintage flocked to the first VINT FEST which took place over May bank holiday weekend at Bentham Golf Club, which played host to the nostalgic nod to bygone years.
Vintage lovers glammed up and enjoyed an eclectic mix of authentic and vintage inspired pop up shops packed with vintage clothes, homewares, accessories and memorabilia.
Visitors to the festival tapped their feet to live music provided by period style entertainers – The Swing Commanders – Europe’s number one swing band, who performed a range of music from 1940’s classics, boogie, swing and 50’s jump jazz.
Festival-goers got dressed up for the event – whilst others enjoyed a vintage scramble on the golf’s greens, but were only allowed to tee-off if they wore vintage gear.
A quintessential tea- room provided refined refreshments, whilst those attending the Speak-easy joint enjoyed prohibition era cocktails, and for the juniors – mini mocktails.
A popular Gin and Jazz session was an evocative tribute to the spirit of an age gone by, and bootleg booze was served behind Bentham Golf Clubs closed doors. Tipples were topped up with some of the best juniper based spirits from northern based brewed brand – Zymurgorium.
Organiser of VINT FEST and manager of Bentham Golf Club Isabel Marshall said: “We had an amazing weekend – it was something different and everyone embraced it, making it a huge success which we hope to repeat and perhaps make it an annual fixture in our calendar.”
